With excellent research staff and nation¡¯s best expertise, Macrogen provides distinguished services to many researchers all around the world. Macrogen¡¯s dedicated research efforts keep producing successful completion of large projects such as Korea Genome BAC Clone Map and Zymomonas mobilis Genome Project.

As the first company having introduced Oligochip products in Korea, Macrogen has been developing and providing DNA Chip total solution to many customers all around the world. Macrogen develops and sells various product lines such as MacArray¢â Express Oligochip capable of identifying the degree of gene expression and MacArray¢â Karyo capable of diagnosing human chromosome aberration, using microbes, mice, and human tissue samples. In addition, the company designs and produces MacProbe¢â consisting of various FISH Probe products.

Macrogen, based on several years of experiences and technologies accumulated from Seoul National University Transgenic Research Institute, its predecessor, has established world-class transgenic and gene knockout technologies and services. With advanced SPF facility newly set up, Macrogen is focusing on functional genomics research while providing transgenic/knockout mice covering the entire process ranging from vector design to delivery.

Lentiviral vector systems are efficiently used for a gene delivery in vitro and in vivo for long-term and stable gene expression. Lentiviruses, a subgroup of retroviruses, can be used for an ideal tool for delivering exogenous genes to target cells because of their ability for stable, efficient integration into the genome of both dividing and non-dividing cells. Therefore, it could be expected to be widely used for inherited and degenerative diseases.
LentiVector Institute (LVI) in MACROGEN is now providing customized recombinant lentivirus production services for researchers to use high-titer virus particles easily.
For safety concerns, non-primate lentiviruses are preferred for use in gene therapy. LVI is developing a non-primate lentiviral vector, CAEV (Caprine Arthritisris Encephalitis Virus) vector, to invent novel and effective gene delivery technology. The developed CAEV vector system is currently on the application for patents in US, EP, Japan, and China as well as Korea.

With Korea¡¯s largest gene database with its world-recognized core competences, Macrogen has obtained excellent results in the field of Bioinformatics. Furthermore, with excellent BT & IT human resources at Bioinformatics Research Center, Macrogen provides a total of 6 services including database construction, Genome Research, and Bioinformatics comprehensive analysis system consulting services.
